2026 Vince Matteucci Award
Congratulations to Steve Long for being honored by the Ohio Wrestling Officials Association (OWOA) as the recipient of the 2026 Vince Matteucci Award. We are very proud of Steve Long and all of his contributions to our great sport of Wrestling!

The Greater Dayton Wrestling Officials Association (GDWOA) was established in 2017.

OUR ASSOCIATION'S MISSION
1.) TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE BETTER OFFICIATING CAN DEVELOP THROUGH EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR MEMBERS.
2.) FACILITATE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR MEMBERS TO MAXIMIZE THEIR OFFICIATING POTENTIAL AND PROVIDE EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP ALL MEMBERS REACH THEIR OFFICIATING GOALS.
3.) PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS TO MASTER THE RULES AND MASTER THE MECHANICS NECESSARY TO ENFORCE THE RULES SO THEY EXERCISE AUTHORITY IN AN IMPARTIAL, FIRM AND CONTROLLED MANNER.
4.) CREATE EDUCATIONAL ALLIANCES WITH SCHOOLS, COACHES AND THE WRESTLING COMMUNITY TO FURTHER THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR ATHLETES.
5.) ADVOCATE THE RECRUITMENT AND ADVANCEMENT OF OFFICIALS.
6.) REQUIRE THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THEIR BOARD AND MEMBERS.
